Abstract Details

Purpose:

To report the use femtosecond laser in challenging cataract cases

Setting:

Private and University Practice setting

Methods:

Data was collected on challenging cataract cases in which a femtosecond laser was utilized in conjunction with pre-laser manual manipulation.

Results:

Small pupil cases were dilated either using a Malyugin Ring or release of posterior synechiae prior to the use of femtosecond laser.

Conclusions:

The use of femtosecond laser for cataract surgery can be helpful in challenging cases and help surgeons achieve consistent results even in these demanding situations.
