Abstract Details

Purpose:

To observe the post-implantation rotational stability of the hydrophobic-acrylic enVista Toric Intraocular lens

Setting:

Observational study done in private clinic.

Methods:

Twenty cataractous eye from 18 patients implanted with the enVista Toric IOL (manufactured by Baush and Lomb) were followed up to six months. Digital slit-lamp photographs were taken pre-op, immediate post-implantation, and one day, one week, one month, three months then six months after implantation. External landmarks were used to monitor the rotational stability of the IOL inside the bag.

Results:

Of the 20 eyes implanted, 18 finished all the scheduled follow ups with the digital photographs. All 18 eyes showed no measurable movements of the IOL inside the bag. One eye had YAG laser capsulotomy performed, with no movement of the IOL observed.

Conclusions:

The enVista Toric IOL seemed to stay stable in the capsule bag for at least 6 months.
