Purpose:
To evaluate endothelial cell loss 3 years after implantation of Acrysof Cachet phakic IOL
Setting:
Hospital Arrabida
Methods:
121 myopic eyes were implanted with Acrysof Cachet phakic IOL. Central endothelial cell count was evaluated before surgery, 3 months after surgery and yearly afterwards. Endothelial cell loss was correlated with rotation of the IOL, depth of anterior chamber and compression of the IOL.
Results:
The overall results showed an endothelial cell loss of 4% at 3 years follow-up. No correlation was found between endothelial cell loss and rotation of the IOL ,anterior chamber depth or compression of the IOL.
Conclusions:
At 3 years follow-up Acrysof Cachet is safe for the endothelium as long as the correct inclusion criteria are followed
