A black PMMA phakic implant was customized to be implanted in a 22-year old white female. It had an overall length of 12.8 mm, optic diameter of 6.5 mm, haptic-optic angulation of 8 degrees.
The implant had a thickness of 0.2 mm, a convex/concave profile with anterior curvature radius of 10.4 mm and a posterior curvature radius of 10.2 mm, the latter resembling the one of the crystalline lens.
Results:
Implantation in the sulcus was uneventful and leukocoria was totally blocked rendering extreme satisfaction to the patient.
