Purpose:
To report the refractive outcomes of multiple IOL platforms using the femtosecond laser assisted refractive cataract surgeries guided by intraoperative aberrometry.
Setting:
Private outpatient surgery center in Laguna Hills, California
Methods:
Retrospective consecutive case series study of 1000 eyes underwent LenSx® femtosecond laser assisted refractive cataract surgery guided by ORA® intraoperative aberrometry with multiple different IOL platforms implanted by the same surgeon. The three month postoperative mean absolute spherical equivalent errors were reported for all IOL cumulative results and IOL specific results. The inclusion criteria included all eyes with postoperative BSCVA of 20/25 or better, no previous corneal refractive surgery, no other significant ocular pathologies, and no intraoperative complications.
Results:
The three month postoperative mean absolute spherical equivalent errors were 0.3±0.3D across all IOL platforms. 78% of all eyes were within ±0.25D; 95% of all eyes were within ±0.50D; and 99% of all eyes were within ±1.0D of intended target correction.
Conclusions:
Femtosecond laser assisted refractive cataract surgery guided by intraoperative aberrometry IOL power calculation provides excellent refractive outcomes among multiple IOL platforms with very high safety profile
