Purpose:
To study the healing patterns of different femto-second laser assisted keratoplasty techniques at the graft-host junction versus the healing patterns in conventional methods
Setting:
Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt
Methods:
20 cases were involved in this study. Ten cases were subjected to Femto-second assisted laser keratoplasty and the other group was subjected to conventional method. All cases were examined clinically and by anterior segment OCT to evaluate the graft-host junction and record the healing patterns after one month
Results:
Reports on wound gaping, overlapping of anterior lamella, rolling of posterior lamella, corneal edema and Descemet"s membrane undulations were recorded for each group and documented by photos
Conclusions:
The wounds in Femto-second laser assisted keratoplasty were noticed to be more regular, with less posterior lamellar rolling and subepithelial gaping
