Purpose:
Documentation of the clinical performance in particular the reduction of the cylinder and rotational stability of the IOL.
Setting:
First clinical experience with a hydrophobic intraocular lens EnVista toric (Bausch + Lomb) is reported based on EnVista registry. The EnVista Toric IOL is an aberration-free aspheric, one-piece acrylic IOL with a monofocal optic, which shows high stability, scratch resistance. The hydrophobic material is proven glistening free. The EnVista IOL has one-piece design with a circular sharp 360° edge. Since 2012 the toric version is available.
Methods:
Within a clinical registry data collection 58 eyes of 46 patients were reported that had received successfully a enVista TORIC IOL. In the follow-up examination visual acuity, IOL behaviour in the capsule, and rotational stability of 48 eyes were examined.
Results:
1-2 weeks after operation, 95,8% of the patients showed an UBVA of 20/32 or better. The average reduction of the cylinder was under pre-operative usage of the Bauch & Lomb toric calculators 85, 3%. In 98,7% of the patients the deviation from implantation axis was ? 10° .
Conclusions:
The results confirm a very good capsule performance of the enVista TORIC IOL with good visual acuity findings which can be graded as " very good" in comparison to reported data of other toric IOL .
