Purpose:
To examine the post-operative results of LASEK procedures using the CustomVis PULZAR Z1 solid state laser
Setting:
: Independent refractive surgery centre, Jersey, Channel Islands
Methods:
240 eyes of 132 patients; 74 female 58 male with an average age of 43 - range 20 to 72 years. LASEK was preformed in all cases. Mitomycin C was used in 63 eyes and the procedure was wavefront guided in 73 patients. BCVA, subjective refraction, phacymetry and aberrometry were measured pre and post-operatively
Results:
92% of preoperative myopes were ±0.50D of target refraction and 99%within 1.00D. 71% of preoperative hypermetropes were within 0.50D and 87% within 1.00D. The BCVA remained unchanged in 92% of subjects
Conclusions:
The PULZAR Z1 is a safe, reliable and effective tool for laser refractive surgery
