Purpose:
To investigate and compare the clinical outcomes of Trans-PRK using the Amaris 750S Eximer Laser
Setting:
20 patients (40 eyes) that one eye performed Trans-PRK using the Amaris 750S Eximer Laser and the other eye performed LASEK eye surgery using same eximer laser was analyzed prospectively.
Methods:
Uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), Manifest refraction (MR) postoperative 2 and 6months was determined as surgical stability factor. The subjective degree of pain after 1day was scored. therapeutic contact lens(T-Lens) removal day, re-wearing percentage induced epithelium trouble after contact lens removal was evaluated as surgical convenience factor.
Results:
There was no statistically significant difference between two groups in terms of UCVA, MR, pain score 1day postoperatively. But therapeutic contact lens(T-Lens) removal day, re-wearing percentage after contact lens removal was significantly lower in Trans-PRK group than LASEK group (p<0.05).
Conclusions:
Trans-PRK using the Amaris 750S Eximer Laser is acceptable outcomes including good visual acuity and MR compared with LASEK. Also this surgery has more benefit that shorter T-Lens wearing period and lower re-wearing percentage after contact lens removal compared with LASEK (p<0.05). FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
