The extensive scientific programme included 19 symposia, over 700 free paper presentations, over 800 electronic poster presentations, and a wide range of didactic, instructional and wetlab courses. The 2nd ESCRS Glaucoma Day was held on Friday and was also a great success.
The Congress was held in conjunction with the 12th EURETINA, 3rd EuCornea and the 2nd WCPOS congresses, which brought a further 5,700 ophthalmologists to the MiCo congress centre.

Earlier this year ESCRS announced free 3 year membership for trainees, resulting in 1,000 trainee members to date and almost 900 trainee delegates in Milan. The annual Young Ophthalmologists Programme took place on Saturday and was preceded by a YO party on Friday evening. New this year was a YO lounge for trainees to go to meet each other and find out more about ESCRS. A new Young Ophthalmologists Programme will take place during the 2013 Winter Meeting in Warsaw, as well as a symposium organised by the Young Ophthalmologists Committee. CLICK HERE for more details.
The annual President’s Dinner took place at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan on Saturday night. It was hosted by the President of the ESCRS, Peter Barry, the President of EURETINA, Gisbert Richard, the President of EuCornea, Harminder Dua, and the Co-Founders of WCPOS, Ken K. Nischal and David Granet.
