Purpose:
The first clinical application in routine cataract surgery is utilized to identify the potential of the new phaco machione Visalis 500 by Zeiss
Setting:
Augen-Op-Centrum Koeln-Porz,
out patient surgery center
Methods:
During a defined period the Visalis 500 Phaco machine is used in routine catract surgery with different incision sizes and settings.
Results:
With the first 30 cases of medium hard nuclei (Grade 3) the mean energy for the emulsification of the nucleus was 0,251 +/- 0,07 sec in cases with an incision size of 2,4 mm.
Conclusions:
