Iris-claw Artisan Toric phakic intraocular lens for high mixed astigmatism.Two year follow-up

Purpose:

To report the case of a patient with high hyperopia and astigmatism treated with Artisan toric phakic intraocular lens (pIOL)

Setting:

Centro Oftalmologico del Bages, Manresa, Spain.NO FINANTIAL INTEREST

Methods:

A high hyperopic patient was evaluated using Anterior Segment Tomography with Pentacam, endothelial cell count, pupilometry, cicloplejic refraction and slit lamp biomicroscopy

Results:

A female patient (42 years old) contact lens intolerant with severe hyperopia was examined (RE +7.00-1.25 x110 degrees , visual acuity [VA] 0.8 and LE +8.00-1.25 x 100 degrees , VA 0.8) The patient's Pentacam tomography and endothelial cell count were between normal limits

Conclusions:

Refractive stability and predictability were high at the 2-year follow-up. There was no gain in corrected visual acuity. No complication where observed in this period of time FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
