Purpose:
Determine visual, refractive and wavefront results of patients with phacorefractive lens exchange implanted with an acomodative iol (at50-ao) for treatment of presbyopia
Setting:
Private clinic, ambulatory surgicenter
Methods:
52 eyes of 26 patients between 50 and 61 years with hyperopia and presbyopia were operated with phacorefractive lens exchange and implantation of an acomodative iol.(at50-ao). postop evaluation included ncdva, nciva, ncnva, .corneal, internal and total aberrations were determined for distance, intermediate and near vision with raytracing and rotatory squiascopy wavefront devices. results were correlated to visual and refractive results at 1 week, 1 and 3 months postop.
Results:
100% have 20/25 or better ncdva.100% have 20/25 or better nciva.100% have j3 or better ncnva.wavefront higher and lower order aberrations differed in each eye of every patient with induction of myopic, astigmatic, third and fourth order aberrations during distance, intermediate and near vision. psf,mtf and simulated visual acuity were determined with opd and ray tracing aberrometry
Conclusions:
acomodative iol exchange in phacorefractive hyperopic patients produced excellent distance and intermediate vision(20/25 or better) and good near non corrected visual acuity (j3 or better) FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
