Abstract Details

Purpose:

Elaboration of new method in the visualization of the anterior segment of vitreous body in diabetes mellitus.

Setting:

National Ophthalmological Centre after acad. Zarifa xanum Aliyeva, Baku, Azerbaijan

Methods:

In the various types of diabetes mellitus (insulinodepending and non insulinodepending) and in the different stages of diabetic retinopathy in 13 patients (7women and 6 men) at the age of 37-76 years the pathological processes in the ciliary body anterior segment were revealed. Acoustic investigations were performed by the new elaborated methodics with the help of the serascalid A/B scanner " Ultra scan imaging System" of " Alcon" USA with the ultrasound sensor with the frequency of 10MHz.

Results:

: During the visualization of patients in the anterior segment of ciliary body all stages (I, II, III) and the spreading of the hemophthalmosis intensity were revealed including anterior fibrovascular membranous fibrocellular adhesion, detachment of the ciliary body anterior membrane, adhesions from the non-optic part of retina to the vitreous body.

Conclusions:

Visualization of the anterior segment of ciliary body on the diabetes mellitus with the new elaborated methodic A/B scanner being the high informative, allows defining the characteristic process of the anterior segment at the early stages of disease. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
