Abstract Details

Purpose:

Clinical study of three-years results of implantation of PHIOL model with torsion haptic realizing a principle of native lens volume-changing in patients with high myopia.

Setting:

1Penza Federal State Institute for Postgraduate Medical Studies, Penza, Russia; 2Penza Regional Eye Hospital, Penza, Russia

Methods:

PHIOL (RF Patent No 2208418) by " Reper-NN Ltd." with optical power 0-5D were used in clinic at 47 eyes of 37 patients with myopia and eye axial length from 24.9 to 33.52 mm, mean 29.33 ± 0.65 mm. IOL position was estimate by UBM and OCT.

Results:

Visual acuity was 0,68 ± 0,15 in all follow-up. Correct and stable PHIOL position was proved by UBM and OCT methods. PHIOL provided recovery of native lens shape and size. PCO and CB folds formation were not observed in any case of follow-up.

Conclusions:

The three-years results of volume-changing torsion PHIOL implantation allows to conclude, that the IOL really can solve a problem of native lens volume-changing and prevention of secondary cataracts in myopic eye. Also, there was no long-term complications of either the CB (contractures, disturbances of intraocular lens), or from the retina. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
