Purpose:
to describe the efficacy and safety profile of a new prosthetic iris
Setting:
vasan eyecare hospital a tertiary care eye hospital
Methods:
two patients who were desirous of having permanent color change of their eyes were implanted with a new silicone Anterior chamber implant of the patients color choice.both patients were evaluated for the suitability of the implant in their eyes by doing gonioscopy, ACD and WTW by orbscan endothelial count by specular microscopy
Results:
one patient recieved an olive green and the other light blue implant. both patients maintained clear corneas with normal IOP and retained the preop UCVA and BCVA at 5 months follow up
Conclusions:
the new prosthetic iris for cosmetic eye color change surgery is safe and give good cosmetic results FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
