Purpose:
To report a simple technique for augmentation of lyophilized AM to treat non-infectious, large corneal perforations.

Methods:
A lyophilized AM was cut and designed to form a long, rectangular shaped AM with the width matched to a perforation size. As the size and location of various corneal perforations, the designed AM was folded several times to be thickened and strengthened. The augmented lyophilized AM was transplanted and sutured to seal a corneal perforation.
Results:
A long, slender AM was folded easily. The augmented AMs was transplanted for 3 patients (neurotrophic ulcers - 2 eyes, iatrogenic perforation after corneal tattooing - 1 eye). After transplantation, the wounds were stable without leak for 6 months.
Conclusions:
Lyophilized AM can be easily augmented with simple folding technique without using fibrin glue. In cases with non-infectious large corneal perforation, it can be used safely and effectively without performing primary tectonic keratoplasty. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
