Abstract Details

Purpose:

We present four challenging cases of diplopia with different onset ages:

Setting:

• T.A.J age 37 with a history of peripheral facial palsy in childhood who comes for intermittent diplopia that becomes permanent in matter of hours. The final diagnosis was Tolosa Hunt syndrome. • E.M age 19 comes for intermittent diplopia, headaches, color vision impairment, dysphonia. The final diagnosis: pan sinusitis with optic nerve involvement. • G.E age 53 comes for diplopia and asymmetric ptosis, morbid obesity, hypertension. The final diagnosis: myasthenia gravis type I. • D.U age 42 comes for diplopia. The patient had an episode of optic neuritis 12 years back without a known cause. The final diagnosis : multiple sclerosis.

Methods:

In all patients MRI was the first to be performed due to the acute state of the patients.

Results:

Treatment was initiated for all patients with remission of the diplopia in matters of days.

Conclusions:

Although the preliminary diagnosis for these patients regarding the age, other clinical signs and history was different, the MRI and laboratory findings offer other perspectives of diagnosis and treatment. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
