Purpose:
To evaluate changes in corneal hysteresis (CH) after treatment with prostaglandin analogues (PG) in medication-naļve eyes.
Setting:
Service of ophthalmology, principe de asturias university hospital
Methods:
Prospective, observer masked study. Ocular response analyzer (ORA) measurement and intraocular pressure by Goldmann (GAT) were performed in 107 patients at basal time and after six months of treatment with Latanoprost.
Results:
CH increased significantly from 8,28±2,52mmHg to 9,79±1,97mmHg (p=0.0001). We found a significant relationship between the increase of CH and basal CH (p=0.0001), but not with the decrease in GAT (p=0,7).
Conclusions:
Treatment with PG increases CH, and this increase is not associated with the reduction of GAT. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
