Purpose:
Surgical expertise, prolonged surgical time, suture related problems and delayed IOL subluxation/ dislocation due to broken sutures are limitations of suture fixation of capsular bag to scleral wall. This new device aims at providing sutureless capsular bag fixation to the scleral wall.
Setting:
Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital and Eye Research Centre
Methods:
9 patients were operated on using this device
Results:
Results are promising with good intra-operative and post-operative capsular bag stability.
Conclusions:
It is used for subluxated cataracts and IOLs. It anchors capsular bag to sclera giving vertical and horizontal stability while providing forniceal expansion and allowing stabilization of bag intra-operatively and post-operatively. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
