Purpose:
Determine if there are differences in precision between both instruments
Setting:
BEGITEK ClÄ·nica Oftalmologica. San Sebastian. Spain
Methods:
Pentacam HR vs Galilei G2. Prospective randomized study. 35 eyes of 35 people without anterior segment pathology. Age was 34.91 +/- 5.42 years. 2 experts explorers. 3 measurements per eye. K1, K2, Sim K, J0, J45, astigmatism and E were studied for anterior and posterior cornea. Pachymetry, ACD, Total Power and Corneal aberrometry (4 orders) were analyzed as well. Within subject standard deviation, precision, repeatability, variation coefficient, ANOVA and Intraclass correlation coefficient were determined to evaluate repeatability and reproducibility
Results:
Single Scheimplug camera shows better precision figures in anterior and posterior cornea curvature and shape values. Corneal aberrometry repeatability and precision are better for the Single camera as well. Double Scheimpflug camera is more precise in pachymetry measurements. Agreement between both devices is very close except for total corneal power and Higher order aberration RMS
Conclusions:
Both instruments are precise in provided measurements but there are significant differences between them. Agreement is good for most, but not all, parameters. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
