Purpose:
To create a database system intended to organize, store, and retrieve easily large amounts of clinical data resulting of ophthalmology practice; specially in the anterior segment: refractive and cataract sections. This is a program made by ophthalmologists to ophthalmologists.

Methods:
Clinical data collected includes the patient's identifying information, personal history, visual acuity, visual tests, complementary studies, descriptions of the cornea, anterior segment, optic nerve and fundus among others; and treatments applied.
The diagrams of the eye appear in sections and meridians, to represent in size and location different lesions. It classifies cataract in nuclear opacity and color, cortical opacity and posterior subcapsular opacity in LOCS 3 grading; nigricans, morgagnian, hypermature, lamellar cataract component; or the presence of pseudoexfoliation. It represents intraocular lens in position: bag, sulcus, anterior chamber, phakic lens; and type: natural, multifocal, three pieces, acomodative. It represents alterations of the iris like iridotomy, iridectomy, nodules, tumors or atrophy.
Videos, photos, presentations or documents can be attached at each patient and visit.
Results:
The program can provide search and classifications through diagnosis, signs and diagrams or treatments to find a patient or a group; get easily reviews and directly statistical results for studies. The information can be shared for internet all over the world, encouraging collaborations and multicentric studies. The information can be translated authomatically at different languages. The program is open source and freeware, can be modified, used alone or introduced into preexisting programs. In the future it will appear as an application via smartphone, allowing to consult in any moment all the patients of the office.
Conclusions:
New technologies are changing and adapting to a reality more demanding, in the pursuit of better care and better patient service. This program is useful in the daily work of ophthalmologists; and provides a new tool to make an informatic follow-up of the patient and studies in a easy, quick, comprehensible and representable way.
