Abstract Details

Purpose:

To study the effectiveness and stability of combind Myoring implantation with pocket cross linking technique

Setting:

Dr Haifa Eye Hospital

Methods:

85 cases of selected moderate and advanced keratoconus had undergone combined myoring implantation with cross linking. A complete ophthalmic examination including uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), sphere spectacles corrected visual acuity (SSCVA) and best spectacles corrected visual acuity (BSCVA) were performed. The patients corneal computarized topographic examination, endothelial cell counts, ultrasound pachymetry, and intraocular (IOP) evaluation. 8 mm diameter of intracorneal pocket at depth of 300 micron performed using pocketmaker microkeratome (DIOPTEX) and LDV FEMTO. Riboflavin injected with in the pocket for 2 minutes only. UVA treatment applied for 15 minutes. Myoring implanted in the corneal pocket at the end of the procedure

Results:

post combined myoring and crosslinking keratoconus cases shown an increase of 5 to 10 lines for UCVA in 85% of cases, and 1 to 2 lines for BCVA in 70% of cases. K reading improved 5 to 10 Diopters in 84.5% of keratoconus eyes

Conclusions:

Myoring implantation combined with cross linking pocket technique appears as safe and effectivein moderate and advanced keratoconus FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
