Abstract Details

Purpose:

To present clinical results of AcriLISA toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation for astigmatism correction and analyze the postop position change (rotation)

Setting:

The Dr Solomatin eye center, RIga, Latvia

Methods:

Fourty two eyes of 23 patients after phacoemulsification and AcriLISA Toric implantation were analyzed with the visual acuity, regular astigmatism and the changing of the lens positions. All the patients were examined after one, three and six months after the surgery.

Results:

Uncorrected visual acuity was ? 0,7 in 40 eyes (97,8%) and ? 0,9 in 18 of 23 patients (78,2%). The mean changes of IOL axis rotation was 1.6 ± 0,78° (range 0,5 -0,6-6,5°) after one month and 1,8± 1,0° (range 0,8-7,8°) three and 1,9±1,2° (range 0,55 - 8,0°) six months post operation.

Conclusions:

Our results indicate that AcriLISA Toric IOL implantation is safe, efficient and predictable method of managing corneal astigmatism in cataract patients FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
