Purpose:
To compare 2 types of pachymetry (ultrasound versus non contact)
Setting:
Ophthalmological Centre of Northern Greece, Thessaloniki
Methods:
We present the values of Central Corneal Thickness measurements with 2 pachymeters, one ultrasound and one non contact (Pentacam) of 159 eyes (80 patients) of patients that underwent preoperative evaluation for refractive surgery (PRK LASIK)
Results:
Pentacam pachymetry seems to overestimate the central corneal thickness comparing with ultrasound pachymetry
Conclusions:
The evaluation of central corneal thickness using ultrasound seems to be safer regarding refractive surgery patients FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
