Purpose:
The management of central retinal vein occlusion with recurrent vitreous hemorrhages and uncontrolled glaucoma (preexisting and worsened by the hemorrhages) despite maximum medical treatment.
Setting:
Saint Loukas Clinic, Ophthalmological Department, Thessaloniki
Methods:
Patient with vitreous hemorrhage and uncontrolled glaucoma.We performed 25G vitrectomy with panretinal laser endophotocoagulation combined with express valve implantation with mitomycin c.
Results:
IOP remained stable at 12-14 mmHg and controlled on monotherapy throughout the 6th month follow up, no bleeding or neovascularisation occurred. Vision has a small improvement.
Conclusions:
Combined vitrectomy with ExPress valve implantation seems to be a safe and effective procedure regarding the management of uncontrolled glaucoma with coexisting vitreous hemorrhages. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
