Purpose:

Purpose: To evaluate the rate of PCO, visual acuity outcome long time after insertion of Tecnis One Piece Monofocal IOL after cataract surgery.

Setting:

Setting: Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre, UK

Methods:

More than 4100 patients with cataract received Tecnis Monofocal between April 2008 to Mach 2012. During 4 years follow up 58 patients have developed PCO which required YAG Capsulotomy.

Results:

58 eyes of total 4100 developed PCO under the period of 4 years. There is some possibility that some patients may have developed PCO but haven't been referred to us for YAG Capsulotomy.

Conclusions:

Tecnis one piece Monofocal lens implant showed good capsular stability and very low rate of PCO over a period of 4 years. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
