Purpose:
Purpose of this study was management of PCO without causing any disturbance in the inegrity of the posterior capsule
Setting:
Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Allahabad India
Methods:
13 patients with PCO with Elschnig's pearls following RLE were selected for this study..A thorough slit lamp and fundus examination were carried out.Bimanual cleaning, aspiration and polishing of posterior capsule and remnants of anterior capsule were done.
Results:
There was no PCR observed during the surgery. Postoperatively no incidence of CME or endophthalmitis were reported. VIsual acuity improved to 6/9-6/6 inall the patients.IOP remained within normal limits.
Conclusions:
Posterior capsule cleaning and polishing is a safe option for management of PCO following RLE. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
