Presbyopia LASIK:creating a hyperprolate cornea

Abstract Details



Purpose:

Presbyopia correction by modifying the asphericity of the cornea by improving the depth of field which maintains the natural and continuous optics, rather than inducing multiple images in each eye.

Setting:

dhami eye care hospital, ludhianapunjab (india)

Methods:

90 eyes of Patient ranged in age from 41 to 50yrs. Lasik was performed in all eyes with adjusting Q values to -1.0Q correction the refractive error in Dominant Eye and -1Q value refractive error plus Presbyopia correction in the non Dominant eye with adjustment according to ASSIS NORMOGRAM for excess of central ablation strict criteria for exclusion of patient was adopted

Results:

: Binocular Vision for distant vision and for near was noted. All patients were 6/6 and N/6 (Binocular) and were happily satisfied for correction of Presbyopia.

Conclusions:

A higher quality of life is attained due to spectacle free condition in normal day and life situations in almost every patient. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
