Purpose:
To present a rare complication of DSAEK operation.
Setting:
Tygervalley Eye and Laser centre, Cape Town
Methods:
A micro keratome assisted DSAEK operation was performed with the Horizon keratome. Air was introduced at the end of the procedure and again 1 day later as the graft was not sufficiently attached at Day 1. An inferior iridectomy was performed.
Results:
18 months after the graft , cell ingrowth was detected. The graft was removed and histopathological studies were performed.
Conclusions:
Conjuctical ingrowth after DSAEk is a rare complication which has not been described in the literature. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
