Purpose:

We present the work of Grassus Benevenutus 'De Oculis'

Setting:

A' Ophthalmologic Clinic, AHEPA Hospital, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece

Methods:

We use the english edition of 'De Oculis' published by Casey E.Wood in 1929.

Results:

Grassus Benevenutus was a controversial person, we do not have any accurate information about his life but we have his work with many information about Ophthalmology and its progress in Europe

Conclusions:

Medieval Ophthalmology was ahead of its time. Grassus Benevenutus was a pioneer who spread the Medical Knowledge to the European Medical Schools. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
