Purpose:
This is a procedure to study the combination effect of:Non penetrating glaucoma surgery (Viscocanalostomy) and Transcilliary Filtration (TCF) .
Setting:
Magrabi eye and ear center saudi arabia
Methods:
Standard viscocanalostomy is done.
Transcilliary Filtration (TCF) is done 1 mm from Schlemms canal using Fugo Blade 100 micron filament to achieve microfiltration through the posterior chamber Twenty-seven eyes of twenty-five patients with medically uncontrolled open-angle glaucoma were enrolled in this study
VC+TCF was performed in 13 eyes, while VC alone was performed in 14 eyes. The mean preoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) was 32.08 mm Hg
The patients were followed up for 2-30 months.
Results:
Combined Viscocanalostomy And Transcilliary Filtration is a safe procedure keeping the advantage of non penetrating glaucoma surgery and augmenting its intraocular pressure lowering effect avoiding the complication of classic glaucoma surgery
Conclusions:
Safe technique in managing glaucoma with high success rate and better visual rehabilitation and good target intraocular pressure in short term follow up FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
