Purpose:
To demonstrate the advantages of ACM (Anterior Chamber Maintenance in Phacoemulsification surgery carried out in Bahrain from 2005 to 2010.
Setting:
AlReefy Eye Centre in Bahrain
Methods:
Over 500 phacoemulsification surgeries carried out at AlReefy Eye Centre under topical anesthesia as day cases with minimum of 2 years follow up.
Results:
100% of the cases had not developed postoperative raised intraocular pressure, no corneal disciform oedema, and postoperative visual acuity of 20/40 or better. No follow up loss.
Conclusions:
ACM is very valuable tool in phacoemulsification surgeries to reduce substantial complications FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
