Purpose:
The authors report a hundred consecutive cases with the preloaded EC1-H IOL from Aaren Scientific, a heparin coated hydrophobic IOL that can be implanted through a wound assisted 2.2 mm incision and has shown good functional results.
Setting:
Clinique Sourdille, Nantes, France
Methods:
All the procedures have been performed in Clinique Sourdille and filmed. The difficulties of injection are presented and analysed.
Results:
When the IOL is properly fold according to the manufacturerÂ’s recommandations, the injection through a 2.2 mm incision is very reproducible. Othewise, the IOL can be misfold or inserted back to front. Such cases are presented in a video with their surgical management.
Conclusions:
