Purpose:
To evaluate the benefit of the secondary piggyback intraocular lens ( IOL) implantation in pseudophakic negative dysphotopsia
Setting:
Clinica Baviera. Instituto Oftalmológico Europeo. Mįlaga. Spain
Methods:
We use secondary piggyback monofocal intraocular lens ( IOL) implantation in three eyes of three patients. Two of them with multifocal lens and one with monofocal IOL implantation
Results:
Three eyes of three patients with negative dysphotopsia had surgical treatment. All patients had complete resolution of symptoms by one year.
Conclusions:
Consistent with a new hypothesis, resolution of negative dysphotopsia symptoms depended on IOL coverage of the anterior capsule edge. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
