Abstract Details

Purpose:

The purpose of the study was to analyze the outcomes concerning stereopsis after intrastromal presbyopic femtosecond laser treatment (INTRACOR)

Setting:

International Vision Correction Research Centre (IVCRC), Department of Ophthalmology, University of Heidelberg, Heidelberg, Germany

Methods:

In a prospective clinical study, 14 presbyopic patients (median age: 56 years) were treated in the non-dominant eye with a 5 ring INTRACOR pattern. Stereopsis was assessed using the Titmus- and TNO-Test with (CNVA) and without (UNVA) correction 36 months after surgery. Test distance was 40 cm.

Results:

The median Titmus score was 90? (range: 40-800?) without and 40? (range: 40-140?) with correction. The median TNO score was 360? (range: 120-480?) without and 60? (range: 0-240?) with correction. The test results UNVA vs. CNVA were significantly different (p<0.05).

Conclusions:

Patients treated unilaterally with five intrastromal rings in the non-dominant eye showed good results concerning binocular stereopsis.
