Diffuse lamellar keratitis: management dilemma in advanced stage

Abstract Details
Purpose:
To assess the role of flap lift and irrigation versus conservative management in advanced stages of Diffuse Lamellar Keratitis (DLK).
Setting:
Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital , Jaipur, India
Methods:
Case series of two cases of grade four DLK presented to our clinic were managed by conservative approach versus one case with flap lift and irrigation. clinical outcomes were compared in different cases.
Results:
No significant difference was noted clinically in long term outcome of DLK in advanced stages among two groups.
Conclusions:
The patients presenting with grade four DLK require a multifaceted approach towards management and a clinical decision should be taken depending on time of presentation and severity.
