Abstract Details
Purpose:
To show a case report for differences and complications between wavefront optimized vs topography-guided ablations for a sixteen years old LASIK that undergone touch up in each eye with a different technique which led to diverse results.
Setting:
A presentation including preoperative and postoperative investigations together with a short video for the elevation of 16 years old flaps.
Methods:
Pentacam and topography with iris registration was done as investigations where the touch up procedure was done by Allegretto EX500 lasik machine ; right eye topography guided ablation and the left eye wavefront optimized ablation after raising the same 16 years old flaps.
Results:
Anatomical improvement in both eyes with much better visual prognosis in the left eye undergone wavefront optimized ablation with a decreased visual quality in the right eye undergone topography-guided ablation.
Conclusions:
We should depend on the subjective refractive quality for the patient than aiming improvement of the patient's topography.
