Abstract Details

Purpose:

Comparison of 2 trifocal IOL for refractive surgery to determine which one is the more valuable for the patient

Setting:

We have implanted 60 patients for refractive surgery with Alcon Panoptix and Zeiss trifocal 839

Methods:

120 eyes have been studied, patients between 50 and 62 years old, with best non corrected AV , best distance reading AV, best intermediate AV, best corrected AV. We also have compared halos and glare, comfort in each situation of daily life through a form filled by each patient. We have set defocus curves for each iol

Results:

Zeiss trifocal has excellent results for far and reading vision but often receives complains for night halos. Panoptix has excellent results for far and intermediate vision and reading vision ,not many people complains with halos

Conclusions:

Both IOL are very similar in terms of spectacle independance
