Purpose:
To evaluate the visuals and satisfaction survey with trifocal IOL - OPTIVIS
Setting:
Hospital de l´Esperança - Ophthalmology Service - Parc de Salut Mar - UAB - Pompeu Fabra University - Barcelona - SPAIN
Methods:
32 patients and 64 eyes. Prospective clinical trial. The first eye was random choosed. All patients was operated by same surgeon in same conditions and with 3 months follow.up
Results:
Visual acuity was better in the post.surgical than in the pre.surgical both near and long sight with and without optical correction with p<0.001. Contrast sensibility also proved to be better in the postopetarive than in the preoperative with a statistical significance of p<0.001 for all frequencies studied.
There is a statistically significative reduction of the dependence of glasses in the postsugical both the long and near distance, p<0.001 and p<0.009.
90% of the patients show an residual sferic equivalent smaller than 1 dp.
The postoperative visual function measured with the test VF 14 is very good with a value of 89.3
Conclusions:
The multifocal IOl OPTIVIS provide good visuals results in long and near sight but to middle distance, the results was not satisfactory.
The forseeable of refractives results was excelent
The patients feel good about the surgery
Its very imporant a good patient´s selection
