Abstract Details
Purpose:
To assess visual and refractive outcomes, postoperative complications and subjective satisfaction after cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange (RLE) with Zeiss AT LISA Trifocal lens implantation
Setting:
Moorfields Eye Hospital, Dubai, UAE
Methods:
Retrospective study of 16 eyes of 8 patients who underwent lens surgery and had Zeiss AT LISA Trifocal lens implantation. Patients were assessed for objective outcomes ( Visual acuity for distance , near and intermediate, refractive outcome, complications) and subjective outcomes ( spectacle independence, satisfaction with IOL, side effects)
Results:
The mean monocular uncorrected visual acuity was 0.10 (+/-) 0.20 log mar for distance, N5 for near and N8 for intermediate. One patient had post op white deposit on the posterior capsule which cleared with topical steroids after 4 months. No patients needed further intervention. Subjectively, 7 out of 8 were spectacle independent, 3 patients had persistent halos but were not symptomatic.
Conclusions:
Zeiss AT LISA Trifocal lens implantation provides high degree of spectacle independence with excellent patient satisfaction.
