Repeatability and reproducibility of a new optical biometer device

Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate repeatability and reproducibility of optical biometry using Galilei G6 lens professional device (Ziemer, Port, Switzerland) in healthy subjects.
Setting:
Prospective evaluation of diagnostic technology.
Methods:
The study comprised 25 eyes of 25 healthy subjects aged 20 to 50 years. The central corneal thickness (CCT), steep keratometry (K), flat K, mean K, total corneal power (TCP), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), axial length (AL) and white-to-white corneal diameter (WTW) were measured by Galilei G6 device. Each measurement was performed 3 times by two examiners. Repeatability and reproducibility were evaluated using coefficients of variation (CoV) and intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC).
Results:
Of the 25 patients assessed, there were 7 females and 18 males. The mean age was 26.0 ± 6.7 years. All values were highly correlated (Pearson correlation coefficients, r> 0.90, P<0.001), and did not show statistical differences between examiners. And Galilei G6 device showed high repeatability and reproducibility (CoVs ≤ 2.53 % and ICCs ≥ 0.939) for all parameters.
Conclusions:
Galilei G6 lens proferssional device showed high intraoperator repeatability and interoperator reproducibility of optical biometry in healthy eyes.
