Abstract Details

Purpose:

Retrospective study about 64 eyes of 32 patients treated from 2012 to 2015 to report the indications, accuracy of the EBK for high myopic eyes and the incidence of haze.

Setting:

Private Practice American laser refractive centers, Israel.

Methods:

All the patients were included in the same group. The mean myopic spheric equivalent was 9.5[max -13] and the mean age 27 years old. All the patients received mitomycine application ,dexamethasone drops at least 3 months and 1g of vitamine C per os daily.

Results:

We reach emmetropic refraction for all the patients [within +-0.25dioptre] Not any case of symptomatic haze was noted [only 4 eyes with transitory grade 0/1]

Conclusions:

Patients that have accepted our follow -up conditions [eye drops ,sun glasses ,and eye drops prescription]reached excellent visual results. The smooth surface of the epithelial ablation zone obtained after EBK ,seems to be the main factor of the haze prevention together with the atraumatic characteristics of this procedure helps us to enlarge our ASA indications for high myopic eyes.
