Abstract Details

Purpose:

Purpose: to report flap thickness variation, after refractive femtosecond lasik, using the ocular coherence tomography

Setting:

Tranjan Eyes Hospital - São Paulo - Brasil

Methods:

Methods: retrospective study of 25 patients (49 eyes), submitted to refractive surgery, femtosecond lasik , and evaluate the variability in flap thickness with visante oct. the flap thickness pattern used was 110 um, 9,0mm diameter, hinge position 90dgr, hinge angle 45dgr, side cut angle 60dgr and 2.25uj of energy.

Results:

Results: femtosecond lasik was done in 49 eyes of 25 patients, 12 female and 13 male, patients were aged between 23 and 45 years old (27,6). the myopic mean spherical was -2,23d (-0.50 ; -8.00) and the mean cylinder was -1,62d (-0.75 ; -4.75) in pre operative, and pos operative was -0,25 sd and -0,54 cd. the thinnest flap had in a point 109um of thickness, and the thicker had 153um. in all cases we noted vaiability in flap thickness.

Conclusions:

Conclusion: there is not a flat flap in femtosecond LASIK, and for each eye there was not a pattern in the flap thickness.
