Treatment of irregular astigmatism with PTK+PRK+CXL method

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the effect PTK+PRK+CXL in treatment of irregular astigmatism.

Setting:

AMT Clinic, Baku city, Azerbaijan. The author have no any financial interests.

Methods:

In 20 patients with irregular astigmatism, with the number of the operated eye 38, the operation has been performed by method PTK+PRK+CXL. All eyes have been measured before surgery, and after 1 week, 6 months and 1 year by the autorefractometer, and with optical coherent topographer (Orbscan).

Results:

Results of treatment good and stable. Visual acuity without additional correction increased in 70% patinets, 30% patients visual acuity unchanged, but all patients reported about improving quality vision. Astigmatism not be changed after 6th month and 1 year post treatment period, and will be stable.

Conclusions:

The method PTK+PRK+CXL treatment of an irregular astigmatism is effective. The predicted results are achieved within one year. FINANCIAL DISCLOUSRE: NONE
