Femto laser-assisted DSAEK: a one year appraisal

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To assess the one year results of FS assisted DSAEK using corneal OCT.

Setting:

Dar El Oyoun Specialized eye Hospital, Egypt

Methods:

20 eyes underwent FS assisted DSAEK using a novel technique that guarantees side healing of the donor disc which cannot be achieved with manual DSAEK , one year later the BCVA and Corneal OCT was performed.

Results:

Corneal OCT verified the presence of side healing and fibrosis. BCVA ranged from 0.3-0.7 decimal. The hyperopic shift ranged from 0.5-1.25D. No case had early or late graft detachment.

Conclusions:

FS assisted DSAEK is a safe , effective procedures that offers more stability for the donor graft than the manual technique.
