Abstract Details
Purpose:
Femtosecondlaser assisted Cataractsurgery allows safe and effective surgery in case of eyes with trabeculectomy. We show different pattern and how you optimize the technique
Setting:
In some cases of trabeculectomy we found problems with optimal fixation of the patient interface an with luxated lenses.
Methods:
In cases after trabeculectomy we check first the pupillsize and the stability of the lens. With the modern swept source technology in the Femtosecondlaser we measured the tilt of the lens and marked the anterior an posterior capsular bag by hand. In case of a higher tilt of the lens we reduce the energy of the Femtosecondlaser and reduce the measured diameter up to 0.5mm. With this pattern we create a safe surgery in all cases. In this cases we even use a capsular tension ring for more stability.
Results:
In 45 eyes after trabeculectomy we found with this technique no femtosecond laser induced rupture of the capsular bag and no decantation of the lens over a period of one year.
Conclusions:
The femtosecondlaser allows a safe an effective cataract surgery in cases after glaucoma surgery. In all cases you can optimize and individualize the surgery for very good results.
