How to perform best-resulted phacoemulsification for surgeon with weakening left hand

Abstract Details
Purpose:
To describe tips and tricks of phacoemulsification for surgeon with weakening left hand.
Setting:
Sumatera Eye Center, Medan, Indonesia
Methods:
342 cataractous eyes of 342 patients underwent phacoemulsification by one surgeon with certain technique to overcome the weakening surgeon's left hand. Pre and post surgery visual acuity, IOP and complications during surgeries were recorded.
Results:
6 complications had been happening, but successfully managed. Safe and sound phacoemulsifications had been done for 336 eyes. Better visual acuity were achieved by P <0.01 and lower IOP were achieved as well by P <0.01.
Conclusions:
Weakening left hand can occur by any reasons for anyone including phaco surgeon. Certain technique, tips and trick in phacoemulsification may help any surgeons with weakening left hand to perform best-resulted phacoemulsification
