Abstract Details
Purpose:
to determine the risk factors of secondary cataract after Phacoemulsification with primary posterior capsulorhexis.
Setting:
Microsurgery of eye named in honour of Fyodorov S., Novosibirsk brunch
Methods:
retrospective analysis of the data of 28 patients with secondary cataract was held. All the operations were provided on the same methodic: Phacoemulsification with IOL implantation and primary posterior capsulorhexis. OCT of vitreo-lenticular interface was made in 2 years after surgery.
Results:
secondary cataract risk factors were determined: small diameter of posterior capsulorhexis (2,0-3,0 mm); lens decentration in case of not a full coverage of anterior capsulorhexis of IOL; patients of young age with intact anterior hyaloids membrane, which is like a matrix for the cell grow.
Conclusions:
There were not determined posterior capsular opacity in case of a distance between anterior boundaries of the vitreous and edges of posterior capsulorhexis in patients with pseudoexfoliation syndrome.
