Abstract Details
Purpose:
The purpose of this paper is to highlight the impact of phacoemulsification on the corneal endothelium in patients with cornea guttata.
Setting:
.
Methods:
We took in the study 41 eyes with coenea guttata who underwent pre- and postoperative specular microscopy.
Results:
Studying the pre and postoperative corneal endothelial aspect in these cases, we found out that corneal decompensation did not occur. Corneal specular microscopy detects this condition preoperatively and we took additional measures, such as excessive use of viscoelastic devices, sodium hyaluronate, reduced ultrasound using, performing phacoemulsification in the capsular bag
Conclusions:
: Cornea guttata known preoperative and treated properly can be contained.
Specular microscopy used preoperative is mandatory.
The use of viscoelastic cohesive and dispersive devices is necessary
